May I expand upon the Geisha idea? Well, people sleep with Geishas in order to forget their life, ne...? So, that could explain why he viewed the Geisha has his mom, too. xD Dunno where I'm going with this. Anyways...awesome song. x3 |

Personally...I think that it's from the POV of a little girl, who's mother was always by her side. Perhaps the abuse from the father was already there, but the mother took all of it, but the daughter was aware. Finally, the mother took her life, by hanging herself. The daughter realizes that she is finally alone, and without her mother, there is no shield from her father's abuse. I think that every time the girl is raped, she goes into a different world -- so far away, that her father's face isn't visible to her, and the voice sounds distorted; even far away. Then, as the years go on, the daughter begins to hate her mother for leaving her alone with her father after killing herself. But, even though she hates he rmother, she is still waiting for her mother to come save her from her father. Finally, the hatred for both of them becomes so strong, that the daughter thrusts a hidden weapon (A dagger?) into her father's neck, killing him. Ironically, in summer (The same season when the mother comitted suicide), the daughter finds out that she is pregnant by her father's child, and she's holding back her nausea from a different reason -- morning sickness. And...that's what I think the story of the song is. ^^; |

Sounds like his friend comitted suicide...they called him and said they were gonna do it, then he was in denial, and by the time he got there...His friend was dead, leaving a note behind. Or so I think. o.o; |

I think this is about incest, yes, and the end of the song ("Dad falls into the trap") is about how... Wait, the closet mind thing they were going on about is keeping the molestation a secret...Then, as it went on for a long time, the daughter grew tired of it, laid a "trap" for her father, which resulted in his death. This is my guess, anyway. |

| Dir En Grey – Asunaki Koufuku, Koenaki Asu (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

("Whitewashing"...What is that?) I think it is about someone who is constantly being judged by people, and was in a relationship with someone who was a total hypocrite, and constantly judged him for being different. I think he refers to being judged as being "Scammed", because the ex-lover was trying to take away the parts of himself that made himself interesting, and he doesn't even know it. I think the "I'm hurting myself and I don't even know it" line is about...umm...He's hurting himself by thrusting himself from his normal life (As referred too in one of those lines), because he is leaving himself open to be judged. Then, the topic switches to the ex-lover/whatever and he is trying to get the guy who makes fake faces around people to show his emotions around people. That's only my guess. Excuse myself for not being clear; it's 2 o clock in the morning. |

| Dir En Grey – Bottom of the Death Valley (English) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think Kyo was inspired by the story of the wife and the two children, personally. I think the first couple of lines: "I've packed up everything I loved in the trunk of the car over there putting in the key I'm going for a last drive from the cliff I'll be free..." That is the woman's point of view, or so I believe. How the "obscene sister" connects into it...I"m not sure. As I said, Kyo was inspired by the story, and put his own insane twist on it. I'm guessing the baby is in the trunk of the car, though...And Kyo sees that as a "coffin", or something. And once people find the body, he'll be in a coffin, too. Which means he's up with his baby in Heaven. ...Or Hell. I don't think he knows which one he is going too. The character, I mean. This is all my guess, sooo...^^; This is the first time I ever tried to do this, so bare with me. Anyway. Awesome song. |

This song kind of reminds me of every parent that doesn't want their kids listening to Dir En Grey. xD;;;; Y'know? Especially that line: "One day, I will fuck your parents." I think that he is talking to the fans right there, actually. But, anyways, I love this song. Can you really buy Withering to Death in Hot Topic? I have Marrow of a Bone, but I want more CD's...And does anyone know if you can buy Dozing Green? In America, I mean. Without buying it off of the net. |
