Heroes and Thieves at my door I can’t seem to tell them apart anymore Just when I’ve figured it out Well darlin' it’s you I’m without. These lyrics are so true.. Take one person, say they are truly good at heart and you just can't figure it out. It can take so long to know if someone is good or bad and by the time you do the person realizes you can't trust them and then they leave. It's just.. wow, so amazing. I mean, I can't claim it's my favorite but it's very close. Amazing, and Vanessa is so amazing as well. :) |

This song is so amazing. I've been listening to it for over an hour just on and on. I think everyone on this page has said some good things, has some good ideas about the lyrics. To me I think she's talking at first about two loves that she left behind for some reason, to pursure dreams, to escape, ect. And then someday she had a daughter, (not sure if it's with one of the loves described) but then I think when she had to say goodbye to her daughter or when she came back to the scenes where she left the men, I think she understood how hard it was for them to say goodbye. I'm not sure if she regrets what she did but I think she finally understands how they all felt when she left them. |

This song I think is one of her best, that's what I think anyway, doesn't mean it's right. It's very beautiful and the lyrics, they could mean so many things. My theory however is a bit strange, even I admit it. But take a look at these lines: Mother, don't tell me friends are the ones that I lose cause they'd bleed before you Sometimes family are the ones you choose It's too late now, I hold on to this life I've found Most people think it's about love, which I also think but I think it's more of a brother/sister love sort of thing or some family members together. Yes, probably too far in my thinking but those lines "Sometimes family are the ones you choose." That's what really makes me think it. It might be a stupid idea and it could be totally wrong, that's just what I thought of it. |
