i think that it's saying that the anticipation got to him...he was so hopeful and when he finally got the chance to ask her, sure that she'd say yes, she said no. and he's basically talking about how SURE he was that she was the one."you should not want to sound they like do you should want to sound like you you should not want to sound they like do" here, they is all of the women who've come before her, who rejected him. he's saying that things with her should be different. also, several arrows later hints at desperation. it's talking about how he has waited his whole life and gone through lots of letdowns and he's just sooooooo ready for something to work. |
