| Oh yeah, and "the gambler lost all he does not have" is probably the idea that she gambled with Nightwish as though it were her own, and consequently lost it. | |

I forgot one part. "It's not the tree that forsakes the flower But the flower that forsakes the tree Someday I'll learn to love these scars Still fresh from the red-hot blade of your words" She's the flower that forsook the tree, and obviously she said some hurtful things that led to her dismissal, that's why someday he'll love the scars because it enabled them to move on. |

Obviously it's about Tarja. That line could indeed be about the letter they wrote, because her response was obviously taking everything wrong. 'Cause she's a total diva. Love the video, how all the bandmembers start out as all girls, which is hilarious because in the end it became all about Tarja, at least as far as she was concerned. Her voice lent Nightwish their uniqueness, and she let it go to her head. "Did you ever listen to what we played? Did you ever let in what the world said?" Has to do with not finding the message in the music. The deep poetic longing and the response of the fans. Instead of seeing it as being about what is sung in the songs and how people respond to that, for her it's a business. It's a way to get attention for herself. "Did we play only to become pawns in the game?" The game meaning the music business. Do we do this just to get in with the crowd and be yet another act just for money? |

| You really find in Finnish some of the roots that Tolkien found for Elvish. It looks really funny to a speaker of American English, but holy cow it sounds AMAZING, and I see what Tolkien saw in it. I love the "let me be to you what my child thinks I am." AWESOME! | |

| Great tune. The orchestra and choir are wonderful. Definitely a song about young love gone awry. | |

| Wow. I think Dark Artist got it right. This is definitely an artist's rejection/betrayal song, which is only worse when it comes to romance. I have been there before. | |
| Nightwish – The Siren Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think perhaps upon seeing the documentary, Tuomas said "what if she was one of the sirens, having still survived, and all she had left was playing for the seals?" That makes for an interesting fantasy plot. I think Tuomas is really a novelist who hasn't written a book. | |
