| Basia Bulat – Little Waltz Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I agree with indiernr, I think it's about a relationship that is falling apart. She obviously doesn't want it to fall apart, and she's trying to get him to stay with her. She feels that it's falling apart because of her, as well. "I know I was wrong, but you know that you'll always be my love." I also see "I learned how to dance, but I'd never shown it to you" as her holding back some part of herself in the relationship, like she wasn't giving it her all. And even though she's made this mistake, they're trying to work it out but it's still between them. She thinks, or just hopes, it'll go away, but it seems like he's not sure or not willing to work it out. That's just my spin on it..it's probably pretty shaped by personal experience, though. :) |

| The Decemberists – Here I Dreamt I Was an Architect Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is my favorite Decemberists song (Oceanside is a close second). "And I am nothing of a builder But here I dreamt I was an architect And I built this balustrade To keep you home, to keep you safe From the outside world But the angles and the corners Even though my work is unparalleled They never seemed to meet This structure fell about our feet And we were free to go" Those lyrics are the story of my life, honestly. I always seem to try so hard to be in a functional relationship, and even though I know it never works, I keep dreaming and trying. I give it my all, but it's never enough. And then I'm free to go. Plus, the actual music just makes me feel relaxed. What an amazing song! |
