This song makes me think of my daughter...I am very young and I have no way to support her right now, so she's going away to be raised my people who can give her a much better life. i think this song is about an emotionally screwed up guy who was in love with an emotionally screwed up girl, & since they both have so many issues they ended up having a majorly fucked up relationship, one that destroyed them inside, although he still has a burning passion for her: "See, through the wreckage Into the fire, inside my heart" i think that the girl is so overwhelmed by the mess they created together, that she plans to kill herself: "Bullet to the head, soon you'll be sleeping Pull this trigger to you antidote" but the guy hasn't quite decided what he's going to do about it, whether or not he too wants to kill himself or not: "She's dressed to kill I don't know what to wear" i think "she's dressed to kill" means she is prepairing to kill herself, & when he says "i don't know what to wear" it means he's not sure what he wants to do. in saying "She had the eyes of angel" he is referring to her beauty, & when he adds "with a heart like a traitor" he's indicating that she is unfaithful to him. i think that the reason he says "We always knew you'd go up in flames" is because she is such an emotionally unstable person she was bound to kill herself sooner or later, & "We always knew you'd go out with a BANG!" means they expected her death would come from a bullet to the head (the BANG! part is symbolic for a gunshot). this idea is supported at the beginning when he says "Bullet to the head, soon you'll be sleeping". well, that's my interpretation to this AMAZING song which, by the way, i absolutely love to death. :) |

i mostly agree with markeestador on this one, but i don't think that they are broken up. i think that his heart still belongs to her, but he let his lust for fame get in the way of him being around for her. & although he misses her he is afraid to call her & face the mistake he has made, & he doesn't know what to say to her to justify what he's done. it also kind of seems like he's mad at her about something because he calls her two-faced "and your two faces locked on mine", and says that she might be to blame for his fony screwed up existence "cause maybe i'm a fake maybe you're to blame". i'm not sure. For another thing, i think by saying "and if you don't find me on the front page find a way to say that you saw me and if you don't find me in a movie find a way to say that you knew me" he is admitting how he feels like without being noticed in the media his existence would have been a waste because few people would have ever been aware of it, and like most of us, once his life is over, no one will remember him. i'm not sure if this is correct or not though, since after that he says "and if you don't find me at all than i, wont care..." but it could just be because if he wasn't noticed he would feel like a failure, & when people feel that they have failed at something that is important to them they just give up on everything & feel like nothing matters anymore. |

this song is probably my favorite by them. i love to slow dance to it :) i think this song is about him loving a girl & wanting to be with her so bad, & although she loves him & wants to be with him too, she's afraid to take that next step with him because she has been scarred by past relationships that went wrong. when he says "And i might be something to you, beyond beautiful." i think he's telling her she should let go of her fears & take that chance with him because they could end up being just what the other one needs & having a really great, beautiful relationship. and when he says "And i might be perfect with you. But no one would know." he's saying how if she doesn't take that chance of being with him they'll never know what could've been, & most likely end up missing out on something great. As for my FAVORITE part, the part where he says "Have you ever really danced on the edge? Is something still scaring you? Have you ever really danced on the edge? The count on 3 its on... Have you ever really danced on the edge? Alright then tell me so... Have you ever really danced on the edge? Just hold my hand and go..." i think dancing on the edge is a metaphore for doing something daring that could cause u to get hurt. and "is something still scaring you" is him asking her if she's still scared that what happened to her in the past will happen again. and by saying "The count on 3 its on..." & "Just hold my hand and go..." he's saying it's time to let go of her fears & be with him.* |

this song is so beautiful. the instrumentals are great. the first time i heard it was live when i went to the from first to last concert at the el corazon a few weeks ago. pierce the veil was there & at the time i had never heard of them but when i heard vic sing this song i instantly fell in love with them & now they're like, all i listen to. my favorite parts are: "Don’t bother cause this love is a lie I’m a chemical kid, you’re a mechanical bride" and "Say that the night sings alone And if there’s a God, then I’m letting him go All for you You alone Raise my hands at the thought of you leaving me alone What if I still care? Don’t torture me or beg me Can you make me believe in tiring? As you fall asleep it reminds me of the slow symphonies behind me They sing along All the nightmares you’ll see tomorrow All the stars on your ceiling, they glow But not for you Through the trees I’ll blow" just the way it sounds when he sings it is beautiful :) |
