Weezer – Beverly Hills Lyrics 16 years ago
Not a great song at all! Annoying and it's a dream smasher kind of song too for those who want to be actors or musicians and here this band is over saying they shouldn't do it and should take on the simple life. Plus I hate that it contradicts itself 'oh i wanna do this' 'no wait, i changed my mind.'

Green Day – She Lyrics 16 years ago
Definitely one of their many best songs. Belongs in a top 10 list of GD's best. The guy in the song is actually willing to listen and pay attention to his girl when she's angry and just needs someone to scream at or talk to. With him, there's no need to bottle up her emotions. Maybe the 'locked in a world planned for you' definitely about a parent, perhaps a mother teaching her child to bottle up emotions(Annette Benning in American Beauty when she slapped herself for crying and yelled 'shut up, stop crying' I watched that in a psychology class and we came up with that conclusion that deep down she was probably raised like that. Course the song came before that movie, just wanted to use an example of what I was talkin about. But that guy is a rare treat for the girls haha. Guys are stereotyped as wanting to watch the game and the girl going on about her problems during the game and not listening.

Weird Al Yankovic – (This Song's Just) Six Words Long Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeup, that's how I see this song as well. I like when he's like 'they're paying me a lot of money and I have time to fill" saying to all these crappy "musicians" who only sing like two words in a song and say it over and over again and get paid millions to do it.

KoЯn – Creep (Radiohead cover) Lyrics 17 years ago
this was such a terrible cover. York's version had more power, much more emotion, the way he sang it sends chills down the spine, and Davies went and made it sound like a joke-song like something Weird Al would sing. After listening to this cover on the radio I had to pop in the real version just to get rid of the stink which was the cover song.

Sufjan Stevens – In the Devil's Territory Lyrics 17 years ago
I could swear I heard the opening music to this somewhere in a film, tv show, or commercial but it sounds so familiar to me every time I hear it.

the song is fricken awesome though. I need to buy a Sufjan album or two or three like tomorrow.

The Offspring – Hammerhead Lyrics 17 years ago
I liked this newer song, really sounds like Offspring is trying to get back to their roots with this one. I mean there's a huge difference in effort from Smash and Conspiracy of One. And Hammerhead just sounds like a song you'd expect Offspring to sing along with the way it is played.

Wilco – You Are My Face Lyrics 17 years ago
this song is awesome. I really loved the influences of Tom Petty and I could swear some of the music instruments sound like a Pink Floyd song. Especially when it first kicks in.

Bright Eyes – Amy in the White Coat Lyrics 17 years ago
this song..no good word can give it justice. You really have to feel it. People like to ignore the pink elephant in the room, but this song forces you to look. This song deals with one of the most unimaginable horrific things a parent could do to their child and it won't be winning any grammys but it's truly one of the best songs ever written. You feel like you are every character in this song as it makes each transition(yes as sick as you think, even the father) by the end of it you feel like the guy who wants to help but can't. How can you sleep knowing this father is going to keep doing this to Amy?!?!?! ugh such a beautiful song but you're grandma wont want to hear it :P

Papa Roach – Forever Lyrics 18 years ago
the radio here always edits 'you're my heroine' line. I guess it can be taken in that context too, but in this song I thought he meant the female hero just the line before it is 'tell you this story' and a heroine in a story is yes a girl protagonist...

Shinedown – Heroes Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree that this song could be about past people who helped pave his career but I was thinking more along the lines that a lot of the people who he looked up to as role models turned out to do things that would make him think they were dead to him. But no matter how dead they are, you can't really deny the legacy they left behind. Sure some turn into coke addicts, pedophiles, sell outs, but you can't deny that they were once somebody important in their life.

And there are some he looked up to that weren't bad people, but died from overdose, suicides, etc

Breaking Benjamin – Breath Lyrics 18 years ago
wow, I was way off from what the rest of you suggested. But not really. I took it as a really bad relationship myself and it ended with a possible rape.
