Way to much thought into this. Everyone knows the song is about The Master debating on whether or not he wants to kill The Doctor!!!! DUHHHHH!!! ;) |

hah, that's exactly my thoughts. terribly atheist yet the songs serenity and acceptance of death is soothing. almost makes one want to believe in an afterlife....if it wasn't so ludicrous. |

Ok, I've checked just about every lyric site I could find and they all have the same lyrics. Now either we few who attest that these are not right are wrong or the entire lyrics internet database is wrong. Something is fucked here. |

The first line as well as the line When I cannot sing my mind I can only speak my heart are from a Khalil Gibran poem. Great song. |

I just wanna say that dude Chinup is a fucking perverted sicko. Seriously. I mean it's a damn funny interpretation of the song but I don't believe it for a second. It's just damn wrong. And the fact that he seems so sure about himself just lets me know hes the kind of guy who enjoys that kinda porn, and probably tries to associate anything with the word "come" in it with a bunch of guys busting on a girls face. Chinup you make me sick. |

I agree with Pie-Face. What the hell is wrong with a bit of good music on the radio for a change. If you really like the band and appreciate their music then you would want it to be played for everyone to hear and appreciate. I walked into a Journey's shoe store the other day and Waiting Room was playing on their stereo, it was pretty fucking awesome and the girl at the counter had not heard of them until then and now she happens to be an avid Fugazi fan. Fuck you all. I hate you and hope you choke on your fucking pompous rhetoric. |

I once had a terrible job renting bikes and surreys at the beach during the early spring season. It was still bleeding cold out in those awful early early mornings when I would sit somberly curled in a ball, tensing my muscles and drinking scotch to stay warm. Though, sitting there staring off at the ocean with the sun still young and climbing up the sky and the foaming water mirroring reflected light I would play this song over and over again in order to cope with my grave position. The beginning gave me hope of warmth in a couple of hours and sanity for the rest of the day. I listened to this song everyday up until I quit that piece of shit job four weeks later. Thankfully the Shins kept calm and at bay and I didn't end up destroying my stand and running for the hell of it. |

Is there another version of this song? The one I have completely skips this verse
"be what you will
and then thrown down your life
oh it's a damned fine game
and we can play all night"
Just wondering if anyone knew of two versions. |
