This song is completely my favorite Guess Who song, I expected more comments. But yeah, I'm thinking that song is about being on drugs, as how it references a walrus(?) doing funny things to the veins in his left arm, and also the poppies(opium). This is pretty much the best conclusion I could come to, but I think the real meaning of the song is, like a Doors song, multiple and interpretable. |

Actually, Canada was winning the war of 1812 to some extent with the invasion of Washington, D.C and the burning of the White House, but both sides agreed on some terms because of the heavy casualties from the fighting.
Oh, and I think that most (not everyone) people on here don't seem to know what Communism is. Communism is a system where everyone is treated as equal, not even politicians are better than the common folk. But, because of greed it really doesn't work and becomes just like every other kind of gov't, execpt worse in some aspects.
And in regards to the actual song, I believe that it's meaning is totally anti-war, and without regard to the actual time it was written. It is obvious that it would've been against the Vietnam war during that time but as time progresses to can be applied to current wars, along with most past wars. |

Really, not all personality cults are fully bad. Sure, I understand that they all are bad in the sense that people are giving up their souls to these charismatic leaders, that they'd kill people for an unjust reason and make it just, because the person told them to. But not all of these 'cults' are bad, do you see Ghandi as evil? |
