Could be about a romance that she can no longer pursue, even though she still sees the other person occasionally. A couple of the other songs on the album deal with death but I don't think it quite fits here though. Either way this is a beautiful song and one that's been on repeat in my playlist quite a few times. |

Definitely one of my favorite Jars of Clay songs. In the usual way I think it's one of their songs that's decisively Christian but not overtly so. Basically, he's writing about how much he needs God.....and the rest is just poetic expansion. |

"It's the rhythm of my heart
And my sleepy girl's breathing
It's the rhythm of my southbound train"
I love that line. As to what it's talking about, when I first heard it I thought it had to do with heaven, because of the "Yea but I'm not so sure/That home is a place/You can still get to by train/" line. Now I'm not so sure, because it's definitely talking about his wife in the rest of it. |

Wow, I hadn't noticed that, johnielsen08, thanks for bringing it up. After checking it out, yeah, its pretty much straight from the Bible, Micah 7:1-9. Great song! |
