Kate Nash – Merry Happy Lyrics 18 years ago
She's like Lily Allen and Reginia Spektor's lovechild.

The sum is much greater than the parts of course(:

So catchy and cute, I love this song.

I think the last few lines solidify the Bulimia theory, because when you purge until nothing comes up but blood, your throat hurts like a bitch, understandably so. So he is saying the Bulimics (or probably more widely, just anyone with mental illnesses) have lived through the most, whether that is true or not is up to you. Going through some of that myself, I tend to agree, most people with eating disorders have been abused or have history of depression and self-harm.

Iron & Wine – Such Great Heights (Postal Service cover) Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this version is much better. The poppy beat of the PS version don't seem to carry the lyrics as well. And I am in the same boat as many, once I saw Garden State I loved the song even more, it fits so well. Zack Braff can do no wrong for me.

Dashboard Confessional – Screaming Infidelities Lyrics 18 years ago
Can we CEASE with the everlasting emo debate, and the ever-accompanying "don't stereotype me by my music" argument. SongMEANINGS.net, remember?

Anyway, Cutiemuffin, "infidelity" MEANS cheating. But to me it sounds like they aren't actually broken up, it's just a relationship that is over, just not officially ended. The girl is obviously cheating on him, despite him still loving her very much. As for the hair, I always imagined her hair being everywhere as being messy from making out, and he is confronting her. But it's certainly up for interpretation.

Bright Eyes – Padraic My Prince Lyrics 18 years ago
"In a coma you don’t dream
You just hope that someone sits with you"

Right up there with my favorite lines ever. Conor is an amazing songwriter, whether it is him as an artist or just art for the sake of art.
Because as far as I'm concerned, any other interpretation makes very little sense.

The Dresden Dolls – Lua Lyrics 18 years ago
I love the original with a passion and love this cover with equal conviction. Something in Amanda's voice gets me every time. Her voice strains at just the right time...mmm can't say enough. Obviously, the song is about living with depression and all the things that come along with it. The lines
"And I'm not sure what the trouble was
That started all of this
The reasons all have run away
But the feeling never did"
have always hit especially hard, to me it describes chronic depression to a tee. Love it.
