Vanessa Carlton – Come Undone Lyrics 18 years ago
I love it. This song is so beautiful that I want to cry!

She has such cute lines that I wish I wrote:
"I would add up what you mean to me
But I cannot do the math"

Who wouldn't want to receive that as a sweet "I love you" type of text message? :p

I feel lucky to have that one person in my life that I can be open with and share everything and who knows secrets I could never tell anyone else. Love does make you come undone, vulnerable, but willing to share. I think she sums it up nicely in the end. Sometimes I think of my boyfriend when we're away from each other and I just have to say, "Gosh, I'm so annoyed at how much I miss him! I hate how much I love him." But at the same time I'm so lucky to have someone I hate missing. :)

"There are people in this lifetime that we should never meet
’Cause to be here now without you
Well, my life’s so incomplete
I’ll tell you what you mean to me and maybe then you’ll see

’Cause the only one I come undone for is you
Yes the only one I come undone for is you"

Vanessa Carlton – More Than This Lyrics 18 years ago
"And as you lean in
To steal a kiss
I'll never need more than this."

Sigh! It reminds me of another song, "love is all you need." You can have another wish if you want, like Vanessa sings, but in the end, love is what truly makes us happy.

I also like these lines:
"We all share the pain
of our histories
but the ache goes away "

Our pasts are sometimes hard to accept, but love makes pain go away. "Live in the glory," the glory of love, the love of now.

Vanessa Carlton – The Wreckage Lyrics 18 years ago
I can relate to this song. Many times I've driven and thought of how easy it would be to cause myself to crash. I'm not suicidal, but sometimes have feelings of "Well, if I were to crash my car and get hurt, then I'd see who cares about me." Like Vanessa says, it could be so easy! Sometimes when I see the headlights coming at me, I think of how easily I could hit the other car. So anyway, I disagree with those who say maybe she was in a car crash or suicidal...sounds more like an ordinary, morbid fantasy to me.

Vanessa Carlton – She Floats Lyrics 18 years ago
Funny, I've never thought of those noises as screams. And I've never thought of suicide/death either. It does have a sad feeling, though. Come to think of it...I guess I've never had a clue what this song meant, but I enjoy the poetry of it and the image of mary janes and dandelions. It's hauntingly beautiful.

Vanessa Carlton – Rinse Lyrics 18 years ago
I love this song. It made me realize things about myself, esp. the line, "the heart of a woman will never be found in the arms of a man."

To me, it is about a woman who desperately wants love, to be liked even, maybe it's as simple as a kiss...just feeling the connection of romantic love. This woman has never felt loved and she wants to so badly, that when she gets the chance, even if it's a man she doesn't really like, she's ready to do what it takes, from a one night stand to whatever he wants from her, even though she doesn't want these physical things; she wants love first.

So when she gives in, she realizes it doesn't help, she's still not loved, and now she has to not only rinse off the emotional pain she had from the beginning, now she has to rinse off the pain from the feeling of these physical acts she's committed without love.

And it's not until she herself realizes that she is worthwhile and doesn't need a man to validate her worth that she can heal.
