I think it sounds more like 'fame' than 'fin'. Anyway that would make more sense to me. I see it as a song written about a girl he onced loved but then he decided to sacrifice his relationship with her in order to focus on his career (could have been his move to England which she might not have been able to do). Now in retrospect he has decided that he does love her. The line 'spin me around under the folding branches' seems to be a beautiful metaphor for uncovering his feelings for her from back in his memories. It goes much deeper than that though I think. |
