the lyrics to song are so sad...but the tone in which he sings it is almost optimistic. i think it is beautiful. and im suprised that there are so few comments. i believe that it is about someone who he is absolutely crazy about, but is a best friend or someone who he feels he cant be with, so he basically has to give up completely, no matter how numb it makes him feel. and i completely agree about the designer clothes line. |

this is my favorite song in the universe. ive listened to it a million times, and i cant wait to listen to it a million more. i think it is the most beautiful description of love i have ever heard. it makes so much sense to me. |

wow, i can't believe that NO ONE mentioned how this song relates to death. maybe its because a good friend of mine just passed away, but i believe that this song is about that feeling about looking at a body inside an open casket and just wanting so badly to hear them say something...or in this case, maybe emily was a girl who used to sing? and he just desperately wants to hear her sing again. (which is why he basically screams the song.) i think that this song describes that feeling so perfectly. |
