i think the end of the chorus the part of the line that says, "For the rest of my mind" is excellent.
it means that drugs have lasting effects on your brain, that is how i take it. For instance having a bad trip on LSD or doing too much E can have negative long lasting effects, post trauma, depression, depersonalization, etc. This has been proven. I really, really like that one of my favorite bands isn't just saying 'Woo hoo, drugs, yeah!' like so many do so often.
I find the approach of this song on the topic to be phenomenally unique and the lyrics to successfully express the potentially negative psychological side effects of psychedelic drugs. |

I HAD to comment here. It is not often that I listen to a song for the first time and I find myself in shivers and tears by the end. This band is absolutely incredible... i found out about them recently... but this song is just, incredible. The last part of the song, the last chorus nails it in. I am an atheist, but this song connects so deeply, and so beautifully. It is pure transcendence, something I aim for in my music. Everything and everyone, and in the end we are all one. |
