i almost feel like andy hull is gently criticizing the people he is sympathizing with. like, the chorus just being "la-di-da" to me means that he's kind of saying that we've all heard these tragic stories before, and that these people in tragic situations have the power to change them, or that those around them could help, but choose not to. i could be wayy wrong on that, and i don't mean to sound brash...that's just kind of what i got out of it. |

that line on the original demo version was "take this, drink this, do this, smoke this, fuck you TILL i'm somebody else" which i like 100x better. it just means he doesn't like the person he is and is trying to change himself through drugs, alcohol, and promiscuous sex. ...i love it. |

ok maybe somebody could clear this up for me...but i know this song is about a girl...and i know he's pretty torn up about her...but did they break up, or did she die? because there's a lot of stuff that could go either way. ...except for the end. i can't tell though. |
