i think this song is incredibly beautiful. it's simply about a relationship that just cannot work out. i can listen to the bridge over and over again; "For what it's worth, I've always admired you I always thought that we could make it through Now look what time can do It took our masterpiece we built and broke it in two I always believed in you I always loved you" this song is truly amazing, and TSC has some of the best lyrics ever written. |

| i think this song is about him being in love with a girl, that he would die for. and he'd bury everything in his past, and just be with her forever. and she is not commited enough to do the same. i think this song is simply about him devoting everything to her, then regreting it, maybe? | |

| it is clear to me that the girl he is singing about has dyed. she states that she is "at home in the clouds". and some people believe that means she has left in a plane, but i disagree. unless she was permantly on the plane, she would not be "at home", like she says. i'm not sure how this girl has dyed, but she has. what she did that she says is terrible, is not telling him how she feels about him, and telling him that she loves him. i think that she left, and the last time he was with her or spoke to her was sunday, when they had breakfast together. he is searching for her, and does not know where she is, or that she has dyed. at the part where he says "she led him upstairs, left him dying to get in", i think was in his dream, where she was leading him upstairs, as in heaven, and he was trying to get in, but he can't, because unlike her, he is still alive. at the end of the song he goes home and gives up his search. that's what makes sense to me. | |
