it's actually about his best friend's niece, who fell asleep at his wedding and so they took her to the limousine to rest. a drunk driver (who had had at least 14 drinks that night) then drove into the car, killing her instantly as she was decapitated. jesse wrote this song for her and i think its very apparent once you look at the song properly. he breaks down whenever he sings this live too! jesse lacey is a god...i wish i could capture raw emotion in lyrics like he can. |

I find it pretty damn annoying that Americans are so ignorant about British culture, language etc. when we get theirs rammed down our throats everytime we turn on the TV. I don't mean to offend anyone btw :)! Beans on Toast isn't just something your mum makes, it's something that is pretty much a British institution ;) This song is be-a-utiful, so simple yet sums up perfectly a long distance relationship. "I see you from the sky" - she's flying home "You wipe the tears from my eye and you say that all it takes is a phone call" - she hasn't had enough time to talk to him and she feels bad about it. This is just like my relationship, aha :) xxxxx |
