I LOVE THIS SONG. And I can't believe I'm the only comment. D: I hear an echo. |

| The Goo Goo Dolls – Iris Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming Or the moment of truth in your lies When everything feels like the movies And you bleed just to know you're alive Favorite bit right there. Beautiful song. (: |

I am in love with the piano in this. <3 And Gabe's voice, that too. Very smooth and relaxing. |

| Len – Steal My Sunshine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Is her name Karen or Sharon? Swear to god I can hear "Man, I've never seen Sharon look so bad before." and then "KAREN! I LOVE YOU!!" What an upbeat melody for a song about pregnancy and drugs. If that is the case. I just thought it was about.. unhappy people. Since when is 'sunshine' a euphemism for 'virginity' anyway? o.O |

Winter Fireworks is my new favorite person. I think it's about a drug dealer/user. As evidenced by... everything. illScarlett = awesome. |

| LFO – Summer Girls Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I first heard the song in Nova Scotia, on a documentary about some of the worst song writing skills in history. Not be offensive to LFO fans, but that's seriously how I heard about this song. |

| Dire Straits – Sultans Of Swing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
My name is Mowthwaush and I'm an alcoholic. I mean, I'm 13 and I love Dire Straits. Heh. But seriously, I remember hearing this song a few years ago as a kid and it's stayed with me ever since. I like the rhythm, the beat, everything. I wish there were more songs like this. |

| Breaking Benjamin – Polyamorous Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I thought it was about paranoia, but the meaning of 'polyamorous' kinda screws that one up, don't it? I dunno. Awesome band + song, though. |

| The Killers – Mr. Brightside Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'm coming out of my cage And I’ve been doing just fine Gotta gotta gotta be down Because I want it all It started out with a kiss How did it end up like this It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss I think this part means... he was probably falling in love with someone he couldn't have, i.e. he kissed her and everything just fell apart. Maybe she was involved with someone else. Now I’m falling asleep And she’s calling a cab While he’s having a smoke And she’s taking a drag Now they’re going to bed And my stomach is sick And it’s all in my head But she’s touching his—chest Now, he takes off her dress Now, let me go As I said before, she is involved with another man, and he is somehow imagining/watching her go to bed with him and feeling jealous and sick. I just can’t look its killing me And taking control Jealousy, turning saints into the sea Swimming through sick lullabies Choking on your alibis But it’s just the price I pay Destiny is calling me Open up my eager eyes ‘Cause I’m Mr Brightside It kills this guy to know that he can't have this woman. 'But it's just the price (he) pay(s)' for his desire. But, he's 'Mr. Brightside' and thinks he may still have a chance with her. Or it could mean this woman was supposedly single when he fell in love with her, but wouldn't date him, which could explain the line 'swimming through sick lullabies, chocking on your alibis'. Again, Mr. Brightside believes 'it's all in (his) head'. That's just what I got out of it, comments? |

| The Tea Party – Heaven Coming Down Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is the first song I remember hearing when I was a kid. My mom is a huge Tea Party fan. Beautiful. | |
| Marianas Trench – Shake Tramp Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I remember hearing this somewhere but I misheard the lyrics 'Smack you like a bitch and you take it like a whore' as 'Smack you like a bitch and you fake it like a door', and I'm like 'What the hell?'. And ever since, when I hear that part of the song I get a little mental image of a door getting an award. Just thought I'd share that. |

| Barenaked Ladies – Enid Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I always thought it was about a 15 yr old dating a woman much older than him. I dunno, that's just what I got out of it. | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Snow (Hey Oh) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
HappyChillmore, I think they were referring to deciphering the 'meaning' of the lyrics, not the actual lyrics themselves? Besides, a lot of fans download music, I sure as hell do considering I can't afford to buy their albums, and some songs I do like and some songs I don't. ANYHOW I think this song is about coming clean from drug addiction, and, like some people have said, brushing aside reality and replacing it with your own. And from Wikipedia: Anthony Kiedis stated in an interview for Stadium Arcadium that the song is "about the repeated failure to start your life anew and how difficult it can be to get rid of old ways of thinking, and destructive ideas we become so attached to." So there you go. That's what I think. |

| Matchbox Twenty – Unwell Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I agree with most people here, though I think it's more about being different than being mentally ill. I kinda understand the lyrics in the song firsthand because I do talk to myself a lot and suffer from chronic insomnia, but that's besides the point.. :p I just don't think it's one of those achy-heartbreak songs, to be blunt. |

| Breaking Benjamin – The Diary of Jane Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I've had this song in my head for a week now. The only bit I don't like is the part where he screams "What have I become" in that loud death-metal voice, but the rest of the song kicks. | |
