This song is about what he sees in the human race. The "murderous intention" represents the fight in him to change society....most people tend to hate those kind. ha. Also, in order to change things...you have to be able to understand what you intend to change...sort of sell your soul to see why things are the way they are. The chorus represents the pain he endures going through this all. I also think the "just like you" comment is a bit ironic. It shows how he can relate to the "enemy." What's great about this song is that I find it to be political in its own sense. Wes isn't critisizing the flaws of the world through the news...pointing out particular facts....he is just simply writing down what he observes in everyday life, and speaking about what he sees wrong from his own vision. It's glorious. |

Honestly...I think it's just about the journey of life. "I am where it takes me." Life, our experiences both good and bad, is what molds us into what we are today. To me this song is basically taking the good, the bad, the cherished, and most horrid memories into one...and trying to create something therapeutic. I like to look at it as a reflection of who we are. |

not bad instrumentally...lyrically this song sucks. yeah political songs can be very good...if written well. This song, however, is not. it's like otep just watched the news one evening and took notes about the war. ''its a rich man's war but it's the poor that die'' mentioned several times in the song...and in about how many others as well. as far as the ''political rock'' aspect goes...this song doesn't push the boundaries at all. as far as this band goes warhead is their anthem and shits all over this song. |

ha funny how easy it is to connect this song. I love Cristina's voice during the chorus. It's about the ending of an unhealthy relationship...or at least the outcome of it was turning nasty/unhealthy. The first few lines indicate how the individual has lost who they were in this relationship and saying or doing things they never predicted they would do. However, once one realizes that the power to keep who they are lies inside them, it's quite overwhelming yet a simple change...and sometimes in order to do that, the only cure is to let go of the person that turned you into this monster. The chorus explains rebuilding oneself without the one they love. It hurts but...in the end it's worth it if this relationship fucks you up royally enough. btw when I say "relationship"...it can be anything. Not just the "in love dating" type thing. ha. Sorry if any of you feel that I totally misinterpretated this song. ha |
