Has anyone else misinterpreted the "When we cling" lyric for "When we came?" It seems to fit with the whole "come and go" line but also... his open sexuality. |

I forgot to mention that Native Americans were a creative force rather than a destructive force. Yes, they were equally capable of destroying nature- however, this particular group of people invested their time in embracing and cherishing nature. Believing in animism: a spiritual belief that every living thing carried a soul. |

Personally, I have always picked up a Scandinavian vibe from this song (hence the foghorns at the end). In my mind, 'vikings' or 'Europeans' always comes to me when considering an 'invasion.' (such as the one of Native America). Is drawing parallels between "Earth Intruders" and "Immigrant Song" too much of a stretch? |
