Originally I hated this song. It just didn't sound like The Verve to me or something. But now I'm totally addicted to it. Not quite sure what exactly the meaning is though. |

MissaOfGrace-- I do agree that being a bitch is sign of weakness, but I do not find it wrong to be used in this song. I think Meredith uses it to sum up everything that can be considered a "negative trait". I'm sure all of us have been called a "bitch" at one point in life...to our face or behind our back or justified or not. This song says to "take me as I am", and I think the bitch reference adds to that to just say "because I'm not perfect". I really don't think she means "because I'm a bitch and I'm loving it". Regardless, great song. |

I also saw that interview, but I don't buy it. Maybe that really did happen, but it's not about the girl. I agree with the communist interpretation of this song. Unseen and others pretty much said it all about this view of the song. So, there's not much for me to say. But to all the people who say this is about sex because of the lines about putting his "finger down inside"... why would he involve the "ant" in this scenario too? Regarding the ant, I think he's trying to put nature back with nature and whatnot...because peaches are "nature's candy". I think on the outside, it's perfectly acceptable to think of this song as just fun about peaches or about sex because thats what I think they want this song to portray on the outside. No politically correct radio station is going to knowingly blast a song promoting communism. So, that first look at the song is just a cover. But if you look closer at the song, you'll see their true meaning...like why there's an ant in what's supposed to be a sexual innuendo. |
