i know this will be another of those posts: it means so much because of my break up/relationship.... crap. but i feel the lines about the things they cant talk about, he doenst care any more that she has been with some one else... he is willing to over look it i only found this song yesterday in a car in bangkok city totally random.... made me feel better that i was leaving for somewhere far away from the situation... somewhere to write my little songs wow i suck at this |

wow, i thought this song would have had more postings i have sat with my brother and lots of wine and tried to interprett his song maybe we got to deep and dont see the easy answer the reference 'although you were a little squireel' could it be his sister who saw it all and she understood it as well although the lines about the man who redefined your body.... probably about a lover. i thought it was maybe about a step father/father had molested the sister and she had asked him to forget about it for what ever reason... and him saying i cant i really thought it was deeper than a message to sean marshal but i guess it makes sense |

i definantly concentrated onthe characters reaction to the rejection(?). from now on he is going to try and live with out love (love nothing) just have a good time i think the lead up to this point was just to build a scene to describe that the character wasnt always like this with girls.... just since she left the note. i dont think the age reference is so important. i think (well its been my theme song of late so i hope i was right) it is just a justification for the way he is with women. maybe its too simple an explanation |

is it about a girl?? i mean i know there is the reference to drinking to forget or try to forget, but there is alot more in there than that the 6 months to adapt and 2 more to leave town, and in the event you do adapt, we still might not want you around" kinda made me think of some small towns i have visited (in australia) the whole, learn our way or get out, and even if you do learn our way we still might not want you here any thoughts? |

oh and "they crawled from the oceans......" maybe a reference to the fact that one time we strived and made such big steps towards being a civilised/artistic/educated people but now we work the weekends because we need money, not because it really achieves anything |

hi guys i like the tragically hip reference... not sure though i thought the lines "i dream of dark on the horizon, i dream the desert where the dead lay down, i dream a prostituted child touching an old man in a fast food crwon, oh yeah i dreamt this ship was sinking there were people screaming all around, i awoke to my alarm clock, it was a pop song it was playing loud" was a reference to the end of the world, all th things required to cause the end of it all for us all. but the more i think about it the more the corruption of children (and adults) by the fast food crown wearing man... burger king maybe sums it up better |
