| Xiu Xiu – Hello from Eau Claire Lyrics | 17 years ago |

i think it is sexually ambiguous. i dont know that it is fair to say definitively that form the perspective of a man, it could be from the perspective of a woman, easily. i think it is about aloneness versus independence. |

| Sufjan Stevens – Decatur, or Round of Applause for Your Stepmother! Lyrics | 18 years ago |

one of my favorite things about this song is the two part male harmony. it seems so rare for sufjan stevens, and it sounds so good. also as i dont live in america i had no idea whatsoever about the meaning of this song. I read 'gone with the wind' and worked out what the civil war was and who the citizens were and felt so happy just to understand a little. whenever i hear about the civil war citizens in their graves who came up clapping i see smiling skeletons sitting up in coffins, sliding in the mud and clapping in time to the song. this also makes me happy. |

| Owen Pallett – The CN Tower Belongs To The Dead Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I thought it was about dead people hanging out being dead, thinking about their lives and living in a tower. Im glad i know what the cn tower is now. and i always thought he said "the cn tower's built upon a boat" which i now see would not make sense. |

i thought it was "no clutch, no stall" like in a car, which fits with "and leaning on the brakes" "no crutch" doesnt make alot of sense |
