It does not matter that this was about 4 years ago when you wrote this. I hope you got what you wanted.

I think Orlando is talking about a friend who has lost it.
Not knowing what say, he takes the stand off approach.
but it also sounds like he is either defending his friend against someone, or maybe himself, I'm not sure.
Its a good song though. |

Also this song is my favorite on Loyalty to Loyalty.
Just listening to the music, not the lyrics, it sounds like they put three songs together.
Maybe? (probably not) |

There is nothing pure anymore. Not the water, not the Air, and most deffenatly not on Television. We pollute the earth and our minds.
The TV controls all. |

Such a good song. It's a really sweet song about love and how things are better when you have to work for them.
And Manhattan is a place where life is not easy, so when things are good there, its better because you worked for them. |

I love this song but I hated that it was a theme to Gossip Girl. I understand that it did fit, kind of but I just think Cold War Kids are way too good to be paired with such a crap Show. |

I also like how Cold war kids puts things in their songs that we will never know the whole story about. Like "Punched the NICHOL'S boy for taking his seat
He gets all that anger from me"
Or in St. John when its talking about his sister "just got off the night shift at Pennington's Place "
Just little names and such that just leave you guessing. |

To me this song is about a man’s epic fail at being a father. He knows that he messed up but goes into denial.
It’s a truly amazing song; everything about it is done well. Most of the time there is always something about a song I think could have been better without but this song is an exception. |

I think this song is about a black guy (nothing offensive intended) who is poor who has seen the rougher side of life. Who is also is not a big fan of rich white kids (nothing offensive intended).
When he saw that some rich white kids feeling-up his sister he just snapped.
An amazing song that I just cannot get tired of. I love Cold War Kids. They opened my eyes to a whole new genre. |

When i first heard this song i thought it was about a teacher cause i thought is said "I lost my papers, Mr. Chan says i owe you all," thought it was talking about a class. Then I read the lyrics, I was obviously wrong.lol
But none the less a really cute song, even if i don't understand it! |
