You people are absolutely ridiculous. Wordplay is not clever if the sentence that you put it in doesn't make sense anyway. "All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy." That doesn't mean anything. You can like what you want to like, but there's no way you could ever think that Britney is "brilliant" or "a genious" (sic) because there's no fucking way. All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to what!?!? If any serious artist were to ever try to pull something like that, they would get immediately panned for being illiterate. At that point you might as well just spell F-U-C-K because there's it's so fucking obvious and dumb that there's no point in trying to even make it sound like you're doing something else. No offense, guys; like Britney all you want. I'm 100% cool with that. But don't try to overlook the fact that she can't form a complete sentence in this song.

The Mars Volta – Televators Lyrics

Regarding the line, "three half-eaten corneas," I thought of a possible explanation, although I like the guy who posted before's explanation as well (although that was like 4 years ago). I don't know how familiar anyone is with the concept of the Third Eye (Tool fans will know what I'm talking about), but a basic outline is that everyone has a metaphorical third eye that, when opened, acts as a gateway to enlightnment and inner secrets and all that. Sort of like a state of zen, I guess. Anyway, the use of that would imply that Julio's third eye was open, meaning that he was at a higher state of being than regular people, which we assume to be true given his artwork and such. My personal interpretation of "half-eaten," although it might be a stretch, is that all three of his eyes upon landing were half-closed: his regular two because he had died, and his third because it was never all the way open. Though he could see more to life through his art and probably through drugs, he couldn't see enough to prevent him from jumping. Just my thoughts, someone posted before about it representing the three fates which was also awesome, but with lyrics this vague the meaning is there for us to find.

I have really bad news for all the people posting comments (1000 now! Holy shit!) that were angry, but in 100 years it's not going to matter at all which music you listened to. I understand that music is incredibly important to a lot of people, myself included, but anybody ever saying "Hey band A = shit!" can never win, or even accomplish anything besides getting the ultimate counterargument, "No! Band B = shit!!!" Are these lyrics disgusting? You bet your bon-bon they are! But the only way you could POSSIBLY understand them is by taking the effort to look them up. Problem solved! Is the musicianship great? I don't know, maybe! But the point is that it doesn't matter. If you think that what CC does is impressive you're neither right or wrong, just like if you think Good Charlotte is whiny then you're neither right or wrong. I agree with the first statement, but I have no more right to call GC a shitty band as others do to call CC a shitty band. If Octobersnackbar is on his deathbed telling his family "At least I told those dumb metalheads how nerdy they are!" then that's his prerogative. But he'll be dead one day, as will all of us, so who gives a damn? Anyway, after 1,000 comments people probably don't read this unless they're bored on a Thursday with free wifi, so there ya go! Oh p.s. the video is funny as shit when he's like "this next song is about shooting blood out of your cock!" Pure gold.

If anyone was wondering about the title, I just came across it. The second circle of Hell in Dante's Inferno was for the lustful, and they were punished by being constantly blown around by a storm, or a "tornado of souls." I guess Dave's hoping she's there right now, and from the sound of the song I think I agree.

Metallica – The Day That Never Comes Lyrics

Metallica has always tried something different, and while far fewer people were fans of the last 3 albums, it's in the past. Too often I think Load and stuff gets compared to Master of Puppets. They were still a good metal band in the 90's; the only problem was that before the 90's they were undisputed gods of metal. This sound like a pretty good comeback to me ;) Anyway, the actual reason I posted. Any ideas on the "love is a four letter word" bit? I hope there's some meaning to it that I can't see, because otherwise it just means that, yes, James can count =P

Tool – Jimmy Lyrics

Another weird connection to 11 (although I realize that you can find connections to any number anywhere if you stretch far enough), if you assign the letters in "jimmy" a numerical value based on where they are in the alphabet, you get j=10, i=9, m=13, and y=25. Add the two m's because they're the same letter, you have 10-9-26-25. 10-9 is 1; 26-25 is 1. Two 1's next to each other, 11. Just a little something I thought of working second shift, thought it was interesting.
