my interpretation of the song is that it's directed towards the "scene queens/kings" on myspace. "the concept of fashion is the one to blame: painting the portrait of conviction-less existence." all of them getting caught up in vanity. "well, it must be difficult being so gorgeous. " all of them claiming to be "perfect" and "flawless" because of their physical appearance. "claiming to be the kings and queens but it's all of nothing." all of them claiming to be the "hello kitty queen" or "gloomy bear king" when really they aren't anything. "this shall pass." all of this is just a fad, a trend. "megalomania." all of them thinking they are above everyone else because of their "perfection." "congratulations on mutiliation for a life." all of them getting piercings, tattoos, simply because it's a trend. i could be completely off but this is exactly what i came to when i first read the lyrics to the song. either way it's an incredible song. |
