i adore this song. she loves him, she really cares for him and wants him to be happy. i kind of see 'another galaxy' as another girl, maybe, someone better than her. and she really does mind, but she knows that she doesn't make him as happy as this new girl. she knows that he doesn't care for her in the same way as she does for him, she knows he is going to leave her even though she would always be there for him, to live, to exist. and it's so relateable at the moment, it makes me cry |

i think this song is happy all the way through, i think it's about how he really likes a person, and just hopes and dreams that in the future they will be together and happy. i love how optimistic it all is, even at the end when he admits that maybe none of it will ever happen, it's like it doesn't really matter because 'there'll be love love love wherever you go' ; so even if they're not together and happy, this person is still amazing anyway. |

I love this songggg. i think it's about conor's brother [my clothes are soaking wet from your brother's tears' ? , about their childhood together and how his brother left, confused, angry, dependant on heroin [bad checks just to fill your arm] conor then sings about how much has changed [a muddy field where a garden was] , things have gone bad, worse, unhappy. i think the 'yellow bird' is a reference of his freedom, how his brother has saved him and given him a life he'd never dreamed about; maybe he thinks of what his brother did as an escape route, now they can both live how they want. i love those lines [and i never thought this life was possible, you're the yellow bird that i've been waiting for] in We Are Nowhere And It's Now there is a reference to the yellow bird again, [how could you forget your yellow bird?]. i think the bird is a symbol of the connection between two people and their love, and conor uses the idea as a way of not letting himself get too down ? the last verse, i think just explains how confused and depressed he is feeling; he drinks and plays music, sad songs make him feel better. i love how lyrics to most bright eyes songs can be relateable in loads of different ways, to different people. |
