i don't know that he's talking about just a relationship all the way through this. the bit about jumping harbour walls and that bit is definetely about a love, something to keep safe as part of the future. but i see the song as a whole a lot more about the future in general. trying to do something worthy and important with our lives. i think he's also worrying a bit about how he's or we're living at the moment: "I'd hate to see, This thing we've developed, Become your burden or my waste of time" i adore this song ^-^ all of josh pyke's work is lyrically masterful and beautifully melodic. mmm :) |
