Spitballing...but I think it's about the jock who was a freakin' genius but drugged himself up and eventually fucked himself into the underachieving retard he is.

Iron Maiden – Different World Lyrics 18 years ago
Black Metal is a large portion satanic, but satanic is overlooked. It has yet to be physically harmful, so they can do whatever the hell they want in my opinion (not animal cruelty please!). Next, you can't just say that people want to be satanic because they think it's cooler. While true in some cases is not in others. Some believe the rituals work and admire the human body as powerful and that it should not kneel down to any god or any other person, lest they have rightfully earned your respect.

P.S. That is summarized the basis of Satanism look it up before you argue.

Now onto the song...I believe that it is about the figurative man who has faith in his religion. He is forced to see the world through the eyes of another, hence the name Different World, and chords like, "Everybody has a different way to view the world" and "It's not to late to learn" truly support this. Thank you for reading, i hope that I have widened your curious minds.

Iron Maiden – The Legacy Lyrics 18 years ago
Thank you for those brilliant past comments made, very inspiring. I would just like to add on to that fraction of the song about 6:40 in where the uber quintain is. First, I would like to know who sings that with Bruce. Next, I'd like to say that it is very visual and fulfilling with images of the future and the corruption that is just BOUND to happen again. Last, for this misinformed, "HallowedBeThyNameIM" this album came out in 2006, so unless it's 2036, I doubt Iron Maiden is belting out killer tunes 30 years later.

Iron Maiden – For the Greater Good of God Lyrics 18 years ago
On the flip side, religion does cause most, and if not all of death and misery. But it does good in this world! The kindness and helpfulness in others is commonly overlooked, but if we all just do a little, the world can be a great place. I don't want you to think of this as queer. This is sort of like a scary movie. You have to go in with an attitude that almost sort of lets yourself be scared, and then you have a good time. You should read this with solemnity and understanding. To previous comments: religion is relatively illogical, but sometimes, its just a feeling of comfort and safety in knowing that one always has your back, your guardian angel sort of. Thank you for reading, for a good time, look up 6:40 into the song The Legacy, same band, same album. It contains a killer quatrain of imminent beauty, but bitter truth of what we have become as far as tyrants and religion.

Iron Maiden – For the Greater Good of God Lyrics 18 years ago
Im Christian, but I question it. With the modern day science, it's hard not to. In many olden ways, mysticism is a way to explain. I now think that mysticism is merely something to hold on to. We as humans have little hope in this world. We all go to the same boring schools and jobs, and are always killing each other. I don't mean killing as a bad thing either. I SUPPORT WAR! It's not pretty and no one likes it, but it just has to be done. DO YOU KNOW WHY? Because some religions do not accept others and innocent women and children must pay the price. We have to protect our citizens. It's just about Christmas now. I hate to hear about all of this Hannukah and Kwanzaa bull, but you know what? I don't kill people over it. Religion truly is something to give you faith to proceed in your life without causing harm and destruction to your own human bretheren. On top of that, who knows? Maybe the good do reside in heaven at God's feet to worship and love one another in beautiful harmony.

Iron Maiden – Hallowed Be Thy Name Lyrics 18 years ago
If I were to guess, I say that it's not quite the things said preiously. People comment it as a literal interpretation, I think it is more of a spiritual epiphany that Harris has gone through. I believe this because other religious songs have been made by them such as in a Matter of Life and Death. I believe that Harris, being the songwriter, just had a great feeling that his life up to this point had been somewhat meaningless and religious faith has opened within him. He shows this through the empathy of a man who had not realized this and now must face the gallows with no one beside him, not even God.
