Yeah it's about my favourite bass player of all time's past being "destroyed". Nikki Sixx is the biggest fuckin legend ever. Of rock and metal legends, I'd rate him the 2nd most legendary, only after Dimebag Darrell of Pantera. Slash of GNR would come 3rd. Fuck yeah! The Crue forever! |

| Skid Row – Youth Gone Wild Lyrics

Sebastian Bach is a legend. And how the fuck can you say it's dated? Fuck that! Some of the best music is old-school. Skid Row, along with bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Guns n Roses, Motley Crue, Pantera and Metallica all emerged more than 2 decades ago. And who cares if it's old? That's what makes it so brilliant! These bands are like red wine, they get better with age. The bands of today aren't all bad, but not quite the same of those of yesteryear. This song is an anthem for all those (such as myself) who oppose authority |

| Santana – The Game of Love (feat. Michelle Branch) Lyrics

No way! In my opinion Slash (of Guns n Roses) and Dimebag Darrell (of Pantera) are much better guitarists than the ones you guys mentioned! Slash's solo on November Rain got voted the best solo ever by lots of artists. And don't forget Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin either. But I guess you guys listen to softer rock than me. Anyway, Santana is very good indeed and this song is quite catchy. Michelle Branch fits nicely into this song. |

| Santana – Free All the People (South Africa) Lyrics

Although I've never heard this song, I rate Santana highly as a guitarist (how can't you?). I am a white Afrikaans South African, born in 1989, so I didn't live during the Apartheid era. I agree that our past isn't right, but eversince the end of Apartheid the blacks have totally fucked up our country. Our crime and murder rates are amongst the highest in the world, and say what you like, it's 99% due to the blacks. Racism will forever linger in South Africa, we'll never get rid of it. Many white South Africans choose to immigrate to Australia, the UK or elsewhere because of these problems (crime and racism). Santana is a great artist and in my books, one of the great guitarists. |

In my opinion, the best damn AC/DC song to grace the face of the earth. It's one of those songs that just grows on you the more you listen to it. AC/DC is about the only good thing to come from Australia. As a South African, we hate the bloody sheepshaggers! But hey, at least they gave us AC/DC |

| HIM – Your Sweet Six Six Six Lyrics
|
Although HIM is my favourite band (and I listen to shitloads of bands, ranging from Pantera to Iron Maiden to Metallica to Guns n Roses to glam shit like Motley Crue), I agree with quiffporn about the whole "666" thing being part of their "image" they're trying to portray to us.
I'm waiting for your call and I'm ready to take your
six six six in my heart
I'm longing for your touch and I welcome your sweet
six six six in my heart
Oh c'mon! You wanna tell me this isn't a reference to inviting demons into his heart? You wanna tell me "666" shows how love and death are close together? Where the hell does that come from? 666 is the number of the beast, so Ville had to dig real deep in his ass to come up with that one. However, I still think it's a good song and HIM is a quality band, no doubt. But I understand perfectly how people like quiffporn can't like HIM. I saw quiffporn's comments while commenting on Iron Maiden and Type O Negative, which he approved of. I guess he thinks HIM shouldn't be regarded as metal but as emo-rock rather. Maybe |

I sort of agree with hotsoupwoman but I do think there is lust involved. He really wants this girl but somehow it can't work (maybe due to there only being physical attachments between them)
I'd kill to share you pain
(please let me)
And sell my soul for you just to say
Love's name in vein
Again and again
Saying love's name in vain? She is stating that she loves him in order to have sex with him, although she doesn't really love him. That's how I see it. Could obviously be wrong though. HIM songs are rather complicated. Great song though |

I only heard of HIM in 2005 (was more into Guns n Roses, Pantera and Iron Maiden) and this was the first song I ever heard of them. So it means alot to me, cos it introduced me to my favourite band. Anyway, great song from the best band to ever grace this world |

This song is about pussY? Hahahahaha! How fkn hilarious is that? wildbill666inlondon has got a point though. HIM's songs are so deep and all have underlying meanings. Now that I've read wildbill's interpretation, I'll never look at this song the same way. Sheer brilliance. The Crimson Door=Pussy. LOL! Fuckin brilliant. Although I must add, Dark Light and Venus Doom (the albums) are in contrast to eachother. I feel like Dark Light is HIM's "lighter" album, where Venus Doom is certainly their heaviest project they've done. Both brilliant though. |

I kinda agree with poisenedxobooze. Although I also interpret it as him playing the girl, tricking her into falling in lve with him and then using her for obvious benefits. He's not always there for her due to him doing "other stuff". Hence, he's a "ghost" to her. |

Brilliant song ,my personal favourite of the Helsinki Vampires. Very romantic, and yes, the French element makes it even more so. Thanks for translating the French part TrentNIN. Coming from South Africa, I don't know shit about French. This band is one of the most under-rated bands out there. It's just a shame so few people know about them. When people ask me what bands I listen to, they'll follow me as far as Pantera, Iron Maiden, Guns n Roses, AC/DC and Motley Crue and Metallica is concerned. But as soon as I mention HIM or The 69 Eyes, they lose me. These 2 bands deserve more credit (although HIM is much more known than the Helsinki Vampires). My compliments to Archzie, Bazie, Jussi 69, Jyrki 69 and Timo-Timo. Fantastic music |

| Iron Maiden – Hallowed Be Thy Name Lyrics

The best Iron Maiden song. No doubt. It's obviously about a guy that has caused shit in his life (a murder perhaps?) and has now gotta pay the price.
"When the priest comes to read me the last rites
I take a look through the bars at the last sights
Of a world that has gone very wrong for me"
That sums it up. And now he's reggretting his actions as he is soon to be executed and all the small things all of a sudden matter to him. He suddenly realises that he has taken life for granted.
Iron Maiden has every right to be proud of this masterpiece |

| Iron Maiden – Fear of the Dark Lyrics

|
Although I interpret it the same way as you guys, this song kinda has a double meaning for me. The thing is, I'm a white dude from South Africa. Due to my country's past (Apartheid), racism is huge in South Africa and (obviously) the vast majority of my country are black people who all hate whites because of the past. Hence we have one of the highest crime and murder rates in the world (the blacks are taking revenge on the whites, or so it seems to me at least)
Therefore, I have a "fear of the dark" (dark people/black people). So I see thist as an anthem for us white people in South Africa. Iron Maiden are true legends |

Iron Maiden is a fantastic band. It says alot for a band who (when Paul Di'Anno was still part of them) originated in the late 70s and are still bringing out great albums almost 30 years later. Brilliant! Many of their songs are military-based. But it kinda suits their type of metal. This song's got a brilliant opening riff. Judas Priest might have been a great band, but they'll always have to lurk in the shadows of these guys. Iron Maiden has stood the test of time |

It's definitely about Scott's supposed divorce. He's broken because of Mary leaving (or wanting to leave) him. And I agree with lack4life, "paper cup" refers to drinking. | Velvet Revolver – Loving The Alien Lyrics

|
Fantastic song, though it gets a bit repetitive towards the end. I think it's about, like someone said before me, loving that one person so much and then somehow the relationship becomes brittle and breaks apart. The opening lines suggest that he's very confused. He's broken but realises he has to move on, but at the same time he craves this woman who has now become foreign (alien) to him and he still loves her deep within. That's what I got out of it. I really doubt this song is about heroin or any form of drugs. The feelings he experiences are all emotional rather than drug-related I would say. But anyway, great song, great band. Very glad that Slash is still doing his thing. At least there is one god of a guitarist out there after Dimebag Darrell died. |

Quality. That's what VR is all about. I'm glad the legend that is Slash could continue gracefully caressing his 6-string beauties post-Guns n Roses. Slash's Snakepit did alright, but VR is pure quality. This song is brilliant, although I wouldn't even nearly compare it to November Rain, which is in a class of its own. Velvet Revolver is a fantastic band and very mature. It's especially great to listen to for me when I need "relatively peaceful" rock in contrast to Pantera, Iron Maiden and Metallica I'm used to. |
