I'm surprised that no one has made this comment yet. Ted Leo did not make this song as a 'mash up' of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs song Maps and Since You Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson, he made it to rip on Kelly Clarkson for practically coping the riff the YYY's created for maps note for note. The only real noticeable change is the change in tempo. This is why he slows it down to its original format and does Maps right in the middle of the song. Then he speeds it back up again and and goes back to Kelly. Sure it might not be that big of an attack on Kelly but Karen O had some choice words about the symmetry |
