I think what this means is that the "crime" was that the couple in the car were being adulterous. Adultry is oftne considered a crime in addtion to the fact that they were an accessory to murder because they lied by omission and also because they didn nothing to help the person being murdered. |

i think this song is about a soldier who gets a dear john letter. He’s a stranger to some And a vision to none He can never get enough, Get enough of the one He is a stranger to the woman that he left behind although he still thinks about her every single day because he can't get enough of her. From yesterday, it’s coming! From yesterday, the fear! From yesterday, it calls him But he doesn't want to read the message here The part about "its coming" he is thinking 1st of all about the memory of times spent with this woman. 2nd the mail takes a while to get to a soldier so the letter was written "yesterday" and last maybe he received the letter yesterday but doesn't want to open it. The fear would also say he was scared to go to war and also that he is scared of what he is becoming and also that he is scared of what the letter will say. The part about "it call him" means that even though it is in his pocket or something, he can't quit thinking about the letter and knowing he has to read it. He doesn't want to read the message here has two meanings: 1) he doesnt want to have to read the message in the letter while he is away at war and 2) he doesnt want to see what is actually happening to his relationship with this woman. On a mountain he sits, its not of gold but of shit through the blood he can look, see the lives that he took From a count to the one He'll decide when he's done with the innocent This is all about him being a soldier. The mountain of gold/shit is about the fact that he remembers when he met the woman how he great it was and now how bad it is to miss her and possibly lose her. i may be the only person to see it this way but here goes... when i first saw the video, i thought that the bear thingy was actually giving the guy a bj, but when i thought about it, although that is how it looks i think it is supposed to represent the fact that he is not being true to himself and it is eating away at him. And when he sits up at looks at himself he is kind of saying, you know what is happening... what do you need to do to win the internal battle. also, throughout the video you see the "twins", i just watched the ending again and if you pay close enough attention, you will see that all of the people in the end have a "twin" representing everyone internal battle between who they are and what they want to be or what others want them to be. |

I agree with Ratanx on almost everything. I think that they were adults. The song says "both belonging to another" which to me says they were both married ! What i have to wonder is the woman that found them... just coincidence or was that maybe the guy's wife and they just tried to make it look like suicide? |

This song is truly a great song. But i like the video even more... not because i am morbid or anything (sorry to kill it for those who haven't seen it but the guy dies in the end of the video) but because the video just pulls at you. Also, just because a video does one thing and a song says another doesn't necessarily mean thats what the song is about. I don't necessarily think this song is about drugs (could be) but if you can't tell after watching this video that he is doing drugs then you should rewind it and try it again. I mean, he buys the stuff, takes it in, busts the lightbulb(?nice improvisation), and dumps the stuff in it and starts going crazy !! |

It took me a while, but i finally figured out the meaning behind the "beaches of cheyenne" part. For those of you who haven't, here is what i came up with. As we all know, there are no major beaches in Cheyenne, WY. However, in the song it says "And all the dreams that they'd been living in the CALIFORNIA sand died right there beside him in Cheyenne." So the beaches they are referring to are the beaches in California. Because she drown herself in the water in California, she still walks the beaches there, however what he is alluding to is that she had to be with him so as she is walking the beaches in California, she is also walking the sand of the rodeo where he died. Hence, the "beach" of Cheyenne. Also, i do think this song does have a great deal in common with Lane Frost, however I can tell that it wasn't written solely for him because at the time he died, he and his wife Kelly were not mad at each other, and they lived TX and not CA. Hope this helps some of you ! |
