I think this song is really about telling stories and how time changes how you tell them. "And I'll say, "Your camisole was a sprightly light magenta" When, in fact, it was a nappy bluish grey" And also how he says "the water rolls down the drain" but then changes it to blood to make it more exciting. |

Perhaps the line: "Like a little girl on a bed that was years ago deceased Resurrected last night with a letter she can't trace" Could be refering to that as a person she died when she became a whore, and now all of this has made her think about things and give her a second life of sorts. Also perhaps the guard set her free as he was planning to and now she is left with nothing but the letter in her hands. |
