The Number Twelve Looks Like You – An Aptly Fictional Description Lyrics 18 years ago
No matter how hard you scream to the audience, to the record companies, to everyone involved, it still seems like it's not enough. The artists are still starving. The sarcastically named orchestra, the kids who think they know everything there is to know about the music they've been blessed with the privilege of hearing, they aren't craving 12's attention because they're all about the fashion and the scene of the music.
It's so sad to think that they feel throwing stones at glass houses is no longer worth the effort, or maybe they do. maybe its people like me who truly appreciate them that keeps it going.

The Number Twelve Looks Like You – The proud parent's convention held in the ER Lyrics 18 years ago
I hate to suppose a simple synopsis for such a beautifully layered and mysterious bunch of lyrical gold.

But it seems to me that a shy student of above average intelligence sees nothing but fault in an educational system that has nothing to offer for him.

The Number Twelve Looks Like You – Clarissa Explains Cuntainment Lyrics 18 years ago
The references to the devil in this song seem like a metaphor for perversion, for a vice that is so appealing because it is just so fucking wrong, know what i mean?
Like a lot of songs by this amazing band, it seems to be from the perspective of another, perhaps a female.
"Horrible your eyes implode with Lucifer's hammer so you don't watch"
It's like she wants all this to happen, but feels impure and disgusting because of it. It's like the Ostrich syndrome; bury your head in the sand and everything that threatens your so called "safety" becomes invisible.
But it's still there.

The Number Twelve Looks Like You – The Devil's Dick Diaster Lyrics 18 years ago
analyzing this work of art would be like dissecting the aftermath of an 18 car pile up with an exploding gas tanker.
The thing that stands out above all else is the determination, the resolve, ex. "the snow is coming the flakes are all a flurry some touched my skin they melt away but I have a purpose I never sway walking for hours don't feel the cold"
I think it could have something to do with trudging on in our insurmountable struggles by any means necessary--even if it means dumping powder into our systems.
Drugs are like fuel to the protagonist of this epic.
Inhale.
Exhale.
He is a fucking machine.

The Number Twelve Looks Like You – Civeta Dei Lyrics 18 years ago
I'm gonna have to agree partially with the theory that this is from a female's point of view. The glass entering the vein part seems to be a reference to drug use, but a lot of you don't seem to see the apparent visualizations. Example "cup spills what holds tomorrow" "shade this tribulation in pastels" Seems to me this dejected and depressed individual is painting her sorrow onto a canvas. Spilling paint erratically onto canvas, smearing into the river the color she perceives as love. If you think in terms of visualization other than just concepts of words this song takes on a new light.
