So to try to keep your mind off it you try to fill up your days with work as much as you can. To try and ease the sting of loneliness and keep you from going insane. Sad. |

maybe he was in love, in paris. it seems fitting.
when you're in your favorite place in the world, with someone you're in love with, the memories from those days stick with you. you can recall things with such vivid colours, and thick, heavy moods and scents, even. This song, for me, is a portrayal of how the tiny, meaningless things you do, like eating a croissant and leaving the rest of it on the bed, are so much more colorful when you are in love. It's like you're in a giant dome where no matter what happens, you'll be okay, because you're in love, and you have a certain person in your life to make everything you do leave a mark in your mind. A memory that will always seem fresh. |

i think it could definitely be a way to portray the longing and sadness of a long-distace relationship, as well as;
'he' cheated on his girlfriend, whom he is totally in love with and regrets it badly. now that she found out, it's like she is on a completely different, higher, and unattainable level. he is trying to reach out to her and tell her how much he loves her and how he doesn't want to lose her. He knows she isn't having any of it, so he says her name one more time before calling it quits. |
