it's wild how dashboard has a song for just about every human emotion out there... i been though a few differnet situations with girls, and dashboard has had something for me each time. This summer, i found a girl, and this song shows how i feel. This song, its beautiful, about an amazing connection, even love (not for me). But the song, and guitar, the mood, its so filled with a deep pain. I wasnt gonna post on this song, just look at the lyrics as im depressed about my current situation, but then i read the lines "Some things tie a life together, you slendered threads and things to treasure." I love when you can find one line that just sticks out and makes a song so much better, so much more powerful and relatable, and ultimately more memorable to you. Its like, the slendered threads, these fragile relationships, even tho they are essenntially doomed, these small, brief things (to be "treasured"), can mean SO MUCH to someone, despite the pain that will follow... and the line "days like this should last and last", it just scares me so much to think that i might one day look back when im older and wonder how much happier i could be if days like this actually DID last |

i havent posted on any song for about a year or two...but this song was randomly on my itunes, i listened to it... and oh my god its so awesome. "I wanna give you love I wanna show you love And so love will be my grave Love will be my grave" one of the best few lyrics i've heard in so long... so little words, but so much meaning. i think the song is of someone, can either be a guy or a girl, who's gotten to really feel for another person. They let their emotions get the better of their reason, and want to completely give themself to this person, this person who doesn't necessarily want to give themselves back. Now they've gone too far to stop. They're so infatuated with this person, that even that they have a sick notion that it won't turn out the way they want it, they have such strong feelings that they keep hoping the other person will feel the same way, and thus, are giving complete control to the other person. They know this is a mistake, with that line, "love will be my grave", its like, they know this is going to break them, but they want it so bad it doesnt matter, even the chance of having such a love, such a connection, could be worth the pain and suffering of a failure. i hate bein depressed and knowing exactly what these songs are about...lol |

just heard this song on the radio and loved it, jack johnson is soo awesome. i think this songs about a guy whos girl left him, but he still really likes her. He was always there for her and always tried to make things good, but she never really tried back. Now that its over, hes still trying, but he wonders if its gonna work. Now hes starting to realize, maybe because this is his first experience with someone so close, things dont always get better with time. And he is starting to realize that he wont be able to be with her if she keeps being the way she was and not trying. they werent the greatest couple, but they were together, but something was missing, and no matter how hard he tried, she just wouldnt care to try back, so now its over and he doesnt want to bother with her if she doesnt want to bother with him sad but good song |
