| Kaiser Chiefs – Everyday I Love You Less And Less Lyrics
| 14 years ago

I think it's pretty clear that it's about an ex that is trying to get her partner back and he's doing his best to convince himself that he is over her. Here's why:
"It's clear to see that you've become obsessed" -- she can't let go of the relationship.
"Unless, unless..." -- he can't quite convince himself that he is over her and he's getting tired of that constant, inner battle.
"I’ve got to know what's not and what's real" -- he's trying to figure out his feelings about his past and current relationships; maybe there is a love/lust situation going on, or he feels people are trying to manipulate him.
"Impressed, you're dressed to SOS" -- his ex is trying to "dress to impress" in the hopes of getting back together ("saving the ship").
"And everybody says that you're a mess" -- he doesn't have contact with the person anymore because they broke up, but they shared friends that are giving him updates on her.
"Ooooooh, and my parents love me, Ooooooh, and my girlfriend loves me..." -- I think in the end, he wants to sleep with his ex again, but in doing so he knows he would be hurting the people that love him (his parents, his girlfriend). This decision is what is stressing him out. |

She built herself a tower to protect herself (she has probably been hurt before). She's coming down now, hesitantly, for a new prospect, but she knows that she is leaving her safety zone. |

| Lovelikefire – William Lyrics

Beautiful song. Sadly, it reminds me of my first relationship.
I think it's about a relationship that isn't working out because the two people aren't compatible with each other. It seems that they used to love each other, but the girl has grown tired of William and wants to end the relationship. He does not seem to understand this and continues to try to reconcile things with the girl. By the end of the song, it seems obvious that she has moved on, but it still has not sunk in for William who remains optimistic that they will be together again someday. In the meantime, he is harboring all of his emotions about the relationship and uses it as his excuse for the pain of his current situation. |

no comments?! this is my favorite from them, so complex both lyrically and musically. i love all of the layers and changes throughout the song.
they are basically pointing out all of the wrongs in our world today and crying out for people to stand up against them. great message. |

it sounds like someone taking drugs because they hate themselves and are jealous about another person who seems to be getting everything they want. but i'm not really sure. |

Yeah I know it's off, for certain parts I just had to make something up so it would pass submission (since they don't allow you to put ?'s in place of words). When someone else can give me a better choice of words I will consider them :D |

yeah, it's "weary, my mind is." don't know exactly what word he uses but it's definitely not "like tea in your loaf" -- something like "lightening your load." |

That's the best I can do, it might be "when islands on the coast, islands on the coast will know how" but I can't really hear it well enough. Feel free to help me out :) |

| Band of Horses – I Go to the Barn Because I Like the Lyrics

I think it's about a boy who was in love with a girl, but he never told her. Instead, he is imagining what their wedding would have been like, with him standing clumsily outside waiting for her to come down. The reason i think this is probably correct is because he starts out by saying that he is the mess she could wear with pride, then in the next line he describes himself as a dress she picks out to wear later that night. I think this is a metaphor for a relationship that never happened. He could have been the the dress, but he never told her how he felt so she never put him on, if that makes sense. |

It's mossing a few "The's"
Should be "The working man's day..." and "The drunk brother..." Also, to me, it sounds like "failure" should be "familiar" (firmiliar?).
Before "The house is not the same..." it sounds like they say "while they lie tonight, they lie tonight, while they lie." But afterwards, it sounds like "while they lied tonight, they lied tonight, while they lied." Past tense transition.
My two cents. Great song :) |
