okay so i looked it up and "white houses" is a term meaning purity. so basically she feels unpure because she gave up her virginity to one of the "five of us" i see this as a girl moving away, possibly for college, and making all new friends, and having a great time. then she meets a guy and they get caught up in a whirlwind romance, and she ends up giving up her virginity to him. after all, he's someone who is there for her. "it's nice not to be so alone" then it graphically describes her first time with the guy (rush of blood and a little bit of pain) my all time favorite part of the song, is where she says "but you, maybe you'll remember me. what i gave is yours to keep in white houses" soooo she is basically telling him that yes, she DID have sex with him, and she does not regret it because it meant something to her. and i respect that. :] |
