i think this song could be about courtney, and the love he had/has (idk if they're still friends) for her as a good friend. "i'm the real deal" could allude to the fact that courtney has always been out to prove she can stand on her own "a kiss breath turpentine" to me, that line sounds like it would fit in easily in any Hole song and that may have been the point -to serve as an illusion to courtney "my crush with eyeliner" courtney was apparently going through a huge eyeliner phase and michael apparently gave some to she and kurt |

the best parts of the song, the verses, are courtney's and the chorus and composition are by kurt. all of you NIRVANA fans need to chill the fuck out -he killed himself partly because he was afraid of becoming the very thing you have turned him into. fuck off and get over it the whole thing to me seems to be about the ups and downs of fame "all that glitters is sour" could mean that being a rockstar looks great and glamorous but it can quickly turn into something awful -a testament to what she and kurt were going through at the time "we all know her rage is endless" possibly courtney writing about herself and her reputations a hot head "(Rest in pieces) I'm sorry (Me in pieces) So sorry" i hate to pull the kurt card but this could be about him. during unplugged she kept looking up during this song almost as if she was apologizing for not being enough to keep him going. she's telling him goodbye but by saying "me in pieces" it implies that she's shattered and doesn't know what to do without him -her life is in pieces |
