| Tim was touring in canada when he found out Andy had died, he wrote this In L.A he was re mixing Blow up the pokies and he was sitting at a piano, one of the guys from sidney came in and sorta said what is there curse because he was the only founding member of the band left and thats where the line "the curse stops here" comes from, this song has a few different stories during it, talking about their deaths "Stay away from edges and from ropes" he talks about him dealing with what had happened, "my first day back i was just rolling round the town" Tim shows the emotion and the hurt he dealt with throughout the song, "they made the easy way look hard" this song is a lament, but also a statement. | |

This song is awesome, conor best writer of all times. this song has so much content within it, he is talking about how this life is so controlled by our western culture and that no matter how hard we want to control our life, somethings are enivitablities, that not even our western society can control " even western medicine couldn't save danny callahan" Conor also talks about the injustices of our society and how insubordinate this world can be and how anything that once was is lost "See a brother in the gutter, you reach out your hand Ask how are you getting on alone" this doesn't happen anymore we someone in the street we avoid them or treat them as second grade citizens whereas they should be equal He also has alot of references to the scriptures, as he grew up in a catholic family, he has content in his songs that reflect on how he was raised. This is a great song the whole a glass can only spill what it contians which i believe refers to a vese in the bible in matthew that says " what comes from the mouth is an overflow of the heart" Love it |
