I think this song is about him wanting to be reunited with his Grandma that meant so much to him. [Thought he lost everything Then he lost a whole lot more.] Here, he was already depressed about everything, then death took his Grandma, therefor he "lost a whole lot more." He's also remembering the "good times" he's spent with his Grandma. He never new how much he had until he lost it. |

-My thoughts, some of the meanings of other users make great sense also!- I'd listen to the words he'd say but in his voice I heard decay --The priest at the his grandmas funeral, talking about her, etc.-- the plastic face forced to portray all the insides left cold and gray --Her face with makeup to portray her as being alive, looking alive, yet she's really dead therefor her insides are cold and gray-- there is a place that still remains it eats the fear it eats the pain --I'd say this has something to do with "Heaven" or "God" Heaven is a place that will.. I don't know, make him feel better knowing shes in a safe place. If he doesn't believe in that, then maybe Reznor still has hope in life because of a certain someone-- the sweetest price he'll have to pay the day the whole world went away --Don't know about this one, but if he believes in God or a higher power after you die, then hes saying Gods gonna have to pay a price for taking his Grandma away.. he's gonna get revenge on God-- |
