| Jason Mraz – Love For A Child Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
My favourite part is the last verse before the last chorus. ("It's kinda nice to work the floor ...") To me this part is sarcastic. Kids dream of being allowed to do what they want, but in reality it's not that great. Sure, there are more birthday presents, but it'd be nicer if the whole family was together. And getting away with taking drugs might be great, but deep down everyone wants their parents to care about them. It's sad, because divorce really can fuck a kid up. |

| Jason Mraz – Details In The Fabric Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I love the part "Hold your own, know your name and go your own way." I think it just means knowing who you are, doing what YOU want to do and being yourself. I think the whole song in general is just about making it through the hard times and that everything will turn out okay. "Everything will be fine." |

I agree with Leif_Erikson. I think it's about the final thoughts someone has before death. Like, lying on your deathbed.. Your life flashes before your eyes sort of thing. And then dying happy with that memory. It's such a beautiful song. |

no one goes to the playgrounds at night, so you can get high all you want and no one will see. doing drugs where the little kids play makes people feel hardcore. |

| Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová – The Hill Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is so beautiful. I think it's about a relationship that was once really great, but the guy has distanced himself from her. She still loves him and is trying to make things work but he's just getting further and further away from her until they break up.. | |
| Placebo – Drag Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think that this is about feeling inferior to someone. It's like knowing someone who is so good at everything, and you just feel like shit in comparison. I also think that the person may be someone that's looked up to though, like and older sibling [which I think dressedinleather said] or about someone that Brian really likes ['I just got to get off my chest that I think you're divine'], and he doesn't feel that he's good enough. | |
| Young Love – Find a New Way Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think that this is about a night out, it's about having fun and generally just living in the fast lane. It's like nothing matters. If something goes wrong, then whatever! Just find another way to do it. Pretty much what lucylou said about overcoming obstacles. |

| Young Love – Discotech Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song is so much fun! I definitely interpret it as a party song. Going out, probably getting high or drunk, and then hooking up with someone on the dance floor. Just generally having a good time. It's such a catchy song! :D |

I love this song. To me it's about knowing that there's something better out there for you, and also following your dreams. And maybe just about escaping from all the shit that goes on for a while to clear your head... |

| Bright Eyes – A Perfect Sonnet Lyrics | 17 years ago |

The two versus, where it starts off with /But I believe that lovers should be tied together/ and /Singing, I believe that lovers should be chained together/ makes me feel as though Conor's maybe jealous of lovers, because the last verse says /Now I believe that lovers should be draped in flowers.../ Like, maybe he wants love so much, and can't get it, that he wishing harm on other people in love because seeing others so happy makes him angry or upset. I find it hard to explain, but maybe he's bitter because he hasn't been able to find love, and is envious of those IN love. And I don't really have an interpretation for the rest of the song, haha. |

| Frank Sinatra – The World We Knew (Over and Over) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think that this song's about a couple who was madly in love, but then things went down hill. Frank thinks that it's the woman's fault, as he says /But the dream was to much for you to hold/. Now he's looking back on how amazing things were and can't stop thinking about it. He's reminiscing about how magical those times were. He probably also wishes he could re-live those moments. |

| Placebo – In The Cold Light Of Morning Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is reasonably self-explanitory. It's morning, the party's dull and maybe over, and the person is high. Where it says /forget past indiscretions and stolen possesions/, I take that to mean that because they're high, anything wrong that they've done doesn't matter because they're high. The stolen possesions have been taken in order to get the drugs, and even though there may be a small amount of regret, it doesn't matter because stealing is worth it, just to be able to get high. /You're drunk sick from whoring and high/ ... I think that means that the person has been 'whoring' themselves out in order to have money for drugs. /Staring back from the mirrors a face that you don't recognise/ This is my favourite part. It's like the person knows they're a junkie, are ashamed of themselves and wish they weren't. It just makes me think that they're so ... broken. |

I think this song is about a relative or friend that conor grew up with. The first part is about when they were young, just being kids and having fun. When it says /You said you weren't afraid to die/ it starts to get more serious. The next part I think the other person is older and maybe experimenting with his sexuality, and someone possibly found out and ridiculed him, shown by where Connor says /Were you made ashamed? Why did you lock them in the drawer?/ I think then that the person leaves, and Conor's proud of him for being able to do that [well I don't think that I ever loved you more], but also feels abandoned [And I'm glad you got away, but I'm still stuck out hear]. When it says /And you wrote bad checks just to fill your arm/ I think that that is a reference to the person being a drug addict. The part that gets me is the /My clothes are soaking wet from your brother's tears/ part I just find that so sad. I think that Conor's trying to be there for the person's brother, who misses him as much as Conor does. |

| Bright Eyes – Lua Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
My interpretation for some of the song is that Connor is showing the differences between high at night, and coming down in the morning. Like, it says /Supplies are endless in the evening, by the morning they'll be gone/, which shows that that night they're on a drug. And it says /Because what is simple in the moonlight by the morning never is/ etc, which I take to mean as him saying that when you're high or whatever everything is so much easier and nothing matters. Where it says /And I'm not sure what the trouble was that started all of this. The reasons all have run away but the feeling never did/ ... I take to mean as maybe Connor was depressed so started with a drug, and then wasn't depressed anymore but still loved the feeling of being high. I think that most of the song is about a girl who is probably equally as troubled as Connor. She also uses drugs, which I think is referred to by /Keep going to the bathroom always say you'll be right back/, which could be interpreted as an eating disorder, but I think that in the context of the song it's more likely about a drug addiction. [I'm thinking coke.] |

| Bright Eyes – First Day of My Life Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think this song is about finding someone, like that ONE person, and falling in love. It's like you're so in love that nothing else matters and you just want to be with them, not caring about the past and looking forward to the future. But I also liked what ThisIsLifeBros said about how they're might be a hidden meaning. |

| Bright Eyes – Road to Joy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
My favourite part of this song is: "No one ever plans to sleep out in the gutter Sometimes that's just the most comfortable place" ... To me that reminds me of being drunk. Like, so drunk that you can't be bothered moving somewhere else, and you're perfectly happy staying there. And then take the human race - we could do so much better as people, but we just can't be bothered, so we're just staying where we are. [I really hope that makes sense, lol.] And for the rest of the song I totally agree with 'snortingmercury'. |

| Frank Sinatra – Strangers In The Night Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I love this song. To me it's about love at first sight. Seeing someone, maybe across a crowded room, instantly falling in love, meeting, and then living happily ever after with them. |
|
| Bright Eyes – Lila Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
To me this song is about a parent watching over their child as they sleep. They're so full of love for it and they feel the child is the most perfect thing ever. By standing at the bedside, it also reminds me of how a parent wants to be there and protect their child at all times. Where it says "knowing that you one were mine ... my baby" makes me think that the child is now older, but will always be a baby in the eyes of the parent. |

| g0alpost1, I don't think Connor is talking about a cross-dressing lover. Maybe you should read into the lyrics a bit more. | |
| Placebo – My Sweet Prince Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I'm not the first one to say this, but I think this is definitely about drugs. I'm not really an expert, so I wouldn't know what one exactly -maybe drugs in general- but it seems it's about drugs and the consequesnces of them. ['never thought you'd fuck with my brain', etc...] I love how Brian kind of personifies the drug. He portrays the drug as a person he's having a relationship with. It really helps show the dependancy he has. |
