Rammstein – Feuer Frei! (English) Lyrics 17 years ago
I'd say this song is saying "Those raised strongest call the shots," referring to the album's theme of hardships as a child, and self-reference by Till.

"BANG BANG!" is Till's battlecry against anything he doesn't like, a product of his upbringing, and indicative of the way he solves all of his problems as an adult: By charging through them headfirst, with proverbial guns blazing. Hence his career in a heavy metal band..

Disturbed – Down with the Sickness Lyrics 17 years ago
The lyrics in this song are incredibly wide, and could be interpreted in so many different ways that nobody here is wrong. This is a site for discussion of how you feel personally about lyrics, not a place to simply report what they are "actually about" according to what the songwriter told media or put up in his blog, though he/she could very well have a secret personal meaning they'll never share.

This song is obviously a hook for the band in general, and a very catchy one at that. This is the song that got me into Disturbed back in their heyday. I'd say it's a call to come into the way Disturbed sees things, if only for one incredible concert, and at least for awhile, say "Fuck society, this is awesome!". Disturbed concerts are great to say the least, and their lyrics really push along the rush very well.

I also believe it's pretty clear the songwriter wasn't too well accepted in high school. These "rise against the society that forsook you" songs, while awesome, are strange to me, because most metalheads don't want to be accepted, but end up feeling bitter that nobody accepts them because they're metalheads and clearly rebellious against society. Very strange.

Dir En Grey – Obscure (English) Lyrics 17 years ago
To me, this song wasn't about anything other than a really awesome video and wicked low-tuned guitar.

I really don't know how Kyo himself feels about abortion, I don't claim to at all. I rather like to think of this song as a concept song, rather than his personal stance on anything. For those not in the know, yes, a concept song can be about something without the lead singer or the band actually feeling that way about it.

Maybe it's a shock song about rape and forced miscarriages; the "disgusting" imagery in the video seems to suggest a woman disgusted with herself for staying with an abusive man, and repeatedly losing potential children because of her love for him. The line "people begin to gather" could mean her friends and family becoming more and more obsessed with the situation, and the stanza ending with "Don't you remember?" could be someone trying to get through to her. The "Blood baby and sacrifice" could be all the children that she has sacrificed to stay with this man. This kind of thing happens fairly often, and is usually kept a secret outside of very small circles, so "secret hangings of the premature baby" might fit there.

Eh, it's a stretch, but I find that interpretation infinitely more interesting than "Boo, hiss, I hate abortion."

KoЯn – Another Brick in the Wall Parts 1, 2 and 3 (Pink Floyd cover) Lyrics 18 years ago
When I first saw this song, I thought to myself: "This is going to be so horrible. I can't believe this is real."

Korn pleasantly surprised me by not completely taking the song and raping it. Very good job. John's voice is really powerful with these lyrics.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Scar Tissue Lyrics 18 years ago
Take out the Chorus and you get this:

"Scar tissue that I wish you saw
Sarcastic mister know it all
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you
Push me up against the wall
Young Kentucky girl in a push-up bra
Fallin' all over myself
To lick your heart and taste your health
Blood loss in a bathroom stall
Southern girl with a scarlet drawl
Wave goodbye to ma and pa
Soft spoken with a broken jaw
Step outside but not to brawl
Autumn's sweet we call it fall
I'll make it to the moon if I have to crawl
Scar tissue that I wish you saw
Sarcastic mister know it all
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you"

Sounds to me like it's from the viewpoint of some southern girl that has a hard life, finds comfort in her boyfriend, and tries to get away.

But hell, I don't know, he came up the song while looking at some birds. He was probably high as a kite, too, so it could mean anything :D
