I think it's about him falling for a woman who just wants the attention. "I saw you. Angels came to light your path. I heard you keep their wings pressed under glass." Good guys that came after her, but she just keeps them "in glass" - on display. When she craves attention or whatever, she uses these "Angels" that long for her. "Now am I so enthralled that I might die? I saw you sweetly smule and say, "do try" "do try"" She obviously wants him to try and win her over, knowing that he won't succeed and that he'll likely become another set of angel wings to keep under glass. The tearing out teh eyes, soul etc is his way of trying to win her. Do whatever he can, give whatever he can. At the end he realises that nothing's lost, as he never had her in the first place. |

This one's fairly easy - it's about a man who uses his money to show off and get whatever he wants. The last verse shows that he doesn't care about anyone but himself... she's depressed at her own wedding to him, but she looks good. So he's happy, and in his eyes, if he's happy, everyone is. |

I always thought this song was about somone working in a burger bar and getting the kids meal for boy/girl. And about the monotony of it all, knowing that they're going to be doing it for the rest of their life... "Wake up in your own drool to find that your future is destroyed" - Wake up one morning and realise that you're never going to do better than this. But looking back on this now, it does seem a lot more likely that it's about failing a really important test, and then "the future's just around the corner "Hi, welcome to big burger can i take your order?"" about his future. |
