Oh, Sleeper – We Are the Archers Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is awesome. I think it's about how we indulge in our sinful desires without thinking of God or of consequence, which is why "Never once did we pick up the sword and learn to fight" against.

The next part is how we realize how wrong everything is and we try to fix our ways. "They watched me fall for the last time."

We try to keep from sinning but it is difficult seeing as how we are a minority. This song is in reference to the battle of moral goodness we face in our lives. It appears we are losing the battle, until the reinforcements, or "the archers" arrive.

Norma Jean – Songs Sound Much Sadder Lyrics 18 years ago
Here's my take

smashed men/tried everything in the book: people like today that party, live risky life

we thought we were learning to live/die: people that partied thought they were having a good time and that this is the way to live, but in all actuality they were killing themselves or filling some void

we will be legends: they do all this crap to be noticed/recognized... because whats the point in being remembered the same as everyone else?

our homes/dream/nightmares: all these things they've done have now caught up to them, for worse.

tonight when this destain/instinct more powerful than life: all these temptations seem so pleasurable to us that we find it hard to resist (promiscuity)

horror/hope/devastation: not too sure about this, my guess is how we are shocked by something in society, then it becomes the norm and eventually helps destroy our morals

hated form of emotion/you have become so obvious: emotion is a sign of being against society, but it is suppressed

fatal habit of being myself: individuals conform to society's mold to be accepted

ok theres hope/step down with all your friends: theres hope, just stop living this lifestyle

As I Lay Dying – Comfort Betrays Lyrics 18 years ago
this song is about a "good" friend who left someone hanging.

you sat and watched
as I nearly destroyed myself
never had I felt so betrayed
that you would sacrifice my life
for no more than your comfort
-------------------------------
"nearly destroyed myself" means someone made bad choices
"that you would sacrifice my life for no more than your comfort" means that the "friend" just stood around or actively participated in "destroying" this person. or he left him during a rough time.

and now your love means nothing
nothing to me
your love means nothing to me
nothing to me
-------------------------------------------
the person no longer trusts the friend

you are a coward
the antithesis of a friend
take action before there is
no one left to defend
----------------------------------------
telling the friend how much he sucks and to change his ways so he doesn't hurt other people the same way he hurt this person

I would have stood by you
I would have stood by you
right to the gates of hell
-----------------------------------------------
he is telling the friend he would have stuck with him through thick and thin. unlike the friend, this person would not bail on him and leave him to suffer.

i think this song is about a certain someone is struggling and making some bad moves.

the singer is telling that person that she is better than that.

Led Zeppelin – Tea for One Lyrics 18 years ago
RayMan is a fucking idiot. The song has nothing to do with weed. Tea is usually a social thing - you drink tea with you spouse in the morning, you meet someone for tea, etc. etc. 'Tea for One' refers to to a guy drinking tea by himself. Alone. It's like going to Starbucks and drinking a cup of coffee by yourself next to the window... who does that?

This song is about a guy reflecting on being away from his girl. It is evident they used to drink tea together. Judging from this line:

[To sing a song for you, I recall you used to say
"Oh baby this one's for we two", Which in the end is you anyway]

It seems like his girl didn't really like him that much.

[How come twenty four hours, Baby sometimes slip into days?
A minute seems like a lifetime, baby when I feel this way. ]

In the above line, he is talking about how lonely he is without her. "Hours slipping into days" could refer to the girl promising to get in touch with the guy, but not fulfilling it.

[There was a time that I stood tall, In the eyes of other men
But by my own choice I left you woman, And now I can't get back again]

To me, it just seems that this guy and girl liked each other. She was probably a babe, because "in the eye's of other men" he "stood tall" which probably means they respected him for having a good looking girl. In the next part, I think it means he tried to play it cool with her to the point where she got bored and left.

Nothing to do with weed. At all.
None of Zep's songs have anything to do with drugs, except maybe Houses of the Holy "Are you dizzy when you're stoned?" But that's it.

Underoath – To Whom It May Concern Lyrics 18 years ago
So hold your head up high and know it's not the end of the road
------------
Don't despair when things aren't going your way or when you get lost.

Walk down this beaten path before you pack your things and head home
------------
If you are going through a tough time, (death of a loved one) mourn them and then move on. Or if you've got a drug problem, realize it and recognize the problem and work to end it.

At the end of the road you'll find what you've been longing for
------------
If you persevere and keep God, your family, and your real friends in your heart during your struggle you will find the light.

I know 'cause my feet have scars to show
------------
Obviously, the writer (Spencer) is telling you that he knows the truth in this because he had fallen and worked to get his life in order and to better himself. (i believe he had a drug/alcohol problem)

I was lost with vague direction and no place to call home
------------
In an interview, Spencer said that drugs we're his substitute for a "strong family or loving girlfriend" He was going nowhere with his life and didn't have any loving family/friend support.

It's time for you to press on
This is not your war
Set your sights to North and press on
------------
Move on with your life. North has a big N so I am assuming it is in reference to God. Follow God and His Word. Make moral decisions and help yourself as well as others.

This is not your escape
------------
I interpret this 2 ways. 1) don't kill yourself 2) an angsty, immoral lifestyle won't solve the problem

Wash away what they thought of you
Because in this place, we're all as good as dead
------------
Believe in God and don't be afraid what others might think. They are the ones that are bringing you down.

...end cycle...
------------
End the cycle of your destructive lifestyle.

Behind the mask you'll find yourself alone
------------
Whether doing drugs, getting drunk all the time or making immoral decisions... it's just not the answer. You're putting on a mask to blend in with the crowd or to fool yourself. When you are alone you find yourself empty and sad (ANGST!) (be it a legit problem or just wanting to feel wanted/important/etc.)

It's not the end of the road for you
------------
It's not the end of the world. There will be more chances, more redemptions, more girls (or boys), etc etc. So just keep on praying! Life is just one big test! Live it and don't lose yourself in it. Trust in God, read the Book, listen to Underoath, and stay optimistic. Life is good.
