Ha, yeah! I agree with everyone's thoughts. I think it's about a relationship that was innocent when they were young and only friends, but as they got older she got more of the older boys attention, and he just couldn't compare. More 'out of your league' references as well This was one of the first songs that got me into The Wombats' music. :) |

They've even said the title and lyrics could be tweaked to be "let's dance to Radiohead... or Cure" Every Joy Division fan needs to chill, this song is defiantly celebrating the music they made. The idea is the irony in dancing to dark music with cynical subject matter. Joy Division fits that description, so this song basically shows off the irony of dancing to dark songs, with a happy sound. |

I totally agree with HelBoy and ..Becci.. In countless interviews they've been heard saying it's about when the lead singer was seeing this girl, but after he was just getting to know her, he saw her kissing an other girl in a club. So, like HelBoy said above, he felt like he was in a serial position, and wanted to get away from it all. So "moving to NY" is more of an exaggeration, as I see it :) Beautiful lyrics, the first verse is my favorite |

Oooh, I agree with your favorite lines! I think you could arguably say this is one of The Wombats' more poetic songs, such as the line about trance music and the forest breathing... It all seems very figurative and quite lovely :) Great song! |
