i love this interview script. i love how he interpreted some people to portray him. they did a good job at it and at first i thought it really was conor. "so who's this arienette?" "i'd rather not talk about it... incase she's listening" "oh, i'm sorry i didn't realize she was a real person" "she's not" "she's not real?" "just as real as you or i" hehe. or something along those lines. it's amazing. |

i think this song is about a relationship. and how the girl changed "California plastic melted your heart away" and "the stars in your eyes, they are burning you alive" i think that means that all of the ambitions and big dreams has changed her to be more harsh, stuck up and cold. he'd rather be in his own world. that's my guess. i love the flow of this song. |

but is maria a girl he barely knows? i think it's about some of his experiences. who's to say? only conor really can say what the true meaning behind the song is. it's a really great song. i think that a lot of his songs he writes are intended to connect and shape themselves to fit the audience's own stories. the audience can interpret however they please. that's what i love about his song writing. |
