although i agree with all who previously commented, to me it seems a little off.. i think the message of this song is simple, beautiful, and one of those incredible songs that put feelings many of us have into words when we couldn't before. this is about love, certainly, but not the loss of it. it's about deciding whether to let someone in, to pull down your guards, or to let it go and move on. this song speaks to me on such a deep level. kenna is talking about that gray area that happens in some new relationships, where you want so badly to be with this one person but at the same time you just want to disengage yourself. at the same time it describes any relationship, regardless of how long it's lasted, still just talking about that gray area. the shadows. the world is not black and white. i love it. |
