James Blunt – No Tears Lyrics 15 years ago
This is about a soldier dying and having no regret.
I think Blunt wrote it seeing that he was in a tank the english army.

Shinedown – Sound of Madness Lyrics 17 years ago
First I'm gonna say that who ever in Shinedown that actually writes their songs is really very good... This song is great.
I would say that it isn't specifically about Emos but they fit into the part very well. Everyone has a friend or knows someone out there that fits the description of this song... they have to complain about everything, the world is against them, nothing is ever right, they are never satisfied, the grass is greener... blah blah blah... Its also about how you know people like this and you need to try and not be that way yourself.
I just really like how its written, it antagonizes the hell out of the "victim" its very playful but in a way that says "what your the only one with problems, I have had shit happen to me too so get over yourself".
(No offense to anyone of faith here) "Get off the Cross someone needs the wood".

sbto,
I completely agree with you about the beginning of this song... It like its just trying to pull tears from your eyes...
Also I think this song is about the inevitable loss we all face... whatever it is...

this is one of those songs that just rips you up if you are above the age of 16... we have all experienced it so it hits home... Its a continuing theme so many artists have done it before. One of the first was Harry Chapin "Cats in the Cradle", there was also "Hero of the Day" by Metallica... there are many more.

FRYEGUY you are entitled to your own opinion. Just don't try to tell people what they think is wrong... I bet all you listen to is albums before the Black Album... very open minded thinker I can tell...

This song is about children and their parents. Listen to the lyrics carefully. Its about children growing up in the world but always needing a place to come back to... their parents.
